When we were young, we made the most passionate promises, became each other's closest lovers, dreamed of the life we would share, and entered marriage hand in hand. At some point, our conversations dwindled to “Mm” and “Okay.” At some point, our love grew more distant. At some point, the home we had worked so hard to build together became filled with pretense.
