Qingwen in Dream of Red Mansions

I like this work very much. It is rare to see a starting point novel that is more than just a red building. On a whim, I searched for [Qingwen] as a keyword to see if there were any new Red Mansions in the past few years, and found this one. Just because Qingwen was the protagonist herself, and there was no system or cheating, I immediately decided to pursue it, and I sincerely admired the author for choosing such a difficult subject. When I was a child, I watched the 120 chapters of "Dream of Red Mansions" for the first time. I swallowed it whole and felt that all the characters in the back were disgusting. Only the scene when Qingwen was driven away, and the later "The Death of Furong's Daughter", left a deep impression on me and made it the most heart-wrenching to read. When I was in high school, I repeatedly read the 80-chapter version revised by Mr. Zhou Ruchang. The characters were much cuter. I especially liked Tanchun, Xiangling, and Xiangyun, but I always admired Qingwen the most. She is the embodiment of a "true daughter". She dares to love and hate. She is different from everyone in the garden. Every move she makes comes from her heart, and she has a true temperament that does not belong to the times. And it is even more regrettable to think that Cao Xueqin may have had such a woman in her life. Although Qingwen is a slave, her character is as high as the sky. In fact, she is not loyal to Baoyu, but loyal to herself. When taking care of Baoyu, he carefully abides by the rules and takes himself more seriously - emotionally intimate, but always innocent, and never willing to neglect his dignity. Noble and unyielding, this is the true character. I think Qingwen represents the most beautiful female image in Cao Xueqin's heart, so she felt so heartbroken when she wrote "The moon is rare, and the colorful clouds disperse". (Quoted here) Zhou Ruchang believes that the "Fu Rong Daughter's Elegy" is called Baoyu Sacrifice Qingwen, but it is actually a "sacrifice to the daughter's soul" and is the highest tribute to the "true daughter". The four words "Dacheng Shenxin" are particularly important, indicating that Baoyu is not a master-slave gift to Qingwen, but a spiritual memorial to Qingwen as a "true confidant". It is also a reverence for her noble character and a tribute to the beauty of the "daughter" throughout the book. ——Of course, this cannot hide the fact that Jia Baoyu is a waste, and he can't protect anyone. Let's talk about this book. It was really surprising to see Qingwen reborn like this, without time travel or system. After all, my regret is for Qingwen. If a modern person traveled through time and became Qingwen, would it still be Qingwen herself? If it's a time-traveling Baoyu rescue, Qingwen can't be the only female protagonist, and that kind of novel will inevitably lead to a dynastic struggle for hegemony in the end, but it has nothing to do with the Red Mansion itself. Qingwen is one of the very few characters that can be directly assumed from a modern perspective (the other one may be Tanchun, but her identity is more difficult to change). The pursuit of freedom and spiritual independence after rebirth is not out of the ordinary for her. This is indeed the character arc that Qingwen should have. Therefore, this book can be regarded as the IF line from Qingwen's perspective - doing a dojo in a snail shell makes many characters flesh and blood, and the loyalty between girls is also particularly touching. I wish the author to write better and better.
