After Being Demoted to Concubine, I Swapped Bodies with the Prince of Chu

On the day of Xue Wanyao’s wedding, lightning struck her bridal sedan chair, and it toppled into the water. Passing by, Prince Chu saw that the bride had fallen in and no one was coming to save her, so he jumped into the water and rescued her. But when Xue Wanyao arrived at the Wuding Marquis residence in her soaking-wet wedding dress, she heard an order for the bridal sedan to turn back. Her prospective mother-in-law, the Marchioness of Wuding, had always cared deeply about her reputation. Disgusted that Xue Wanyao had been rescued from the water by an unrelated man and lost her good name, she publicly called off the engagement. With no choice, Xue Wanyao returned to the Xue family, only to be thrown out because they, too, cared about their reputation and believed hers had been ruined. Xue Wanyao was left with only two options: end her life to preserve her good name, or become a nun at a Taoist temple. Instead, Xue Wanyao found herself a third option. She would repay Prince Chu for saving her life by giving herself to him. Prince Chu said, “If you want to repay me for saving your life, shouldn’t you give me money? Are you repaying my kindness, or taking revenge on me?” When Princess Changping, Prince Chu’s mother, heard about it, she was delighted. Prince Chu was already seventeen, yet had never shown any interest in women. The Gu family’s line was in danger, so she simply took it upon herself to bring Xue Wanyao into Prince Chu’s residence as a concubine. On the night Xue Wanyao entered Prince Chu’s residence, the young prince declared, “You repay kindness with betrayal. Even if you’re my concubine, I will never touch you.” The next morning, when Prince Chu woke up, he stared pensively at the slender, fair-skinned arm wearing a gold bracelet beside him. He truly hadn’t wanted to touch Xue Wanyao at all, but now he had no choice… Could someone tell him why, after waking from a nap, he had become Xue Wanyao?!
