Handing Out Craftwork Jobs from Behind the Great Court of Justice

Cheng Manyue, a modern-day handicraft blogger, faces a disastrous start the moment she arrives in the past. Her family is deeply in debt, and the creditors have come to collect, threatening to sell their house if they don't get paid. Her father is gravely injured and depressed, her mother does nothing but cry and complain every day, her three older sisters could be cast out by their husbands' families at any moment, and her brother is about to be expelled from school because they can't afford his tuition. After finding herself in the body of the Cheng family's youngest daughter, Cheng Manyue says none of this is a problem. As long as you have hands and feet, you can dig gold out of the dirt. Besides, the Cheng home is just one street away from the Court of Judicial Review and the academy, making it a safe place with plenty of wives, mothers, younger sisters-in-law, and older sisters-in-law accompanying students. Cheng Manyue rallies her family and gets them back to their old trade. They turn scraps of cloth into silk flowers, dried flowers into lifelike artificial blooms, and even fit carriages with windshield wipers. Once the orders start rolling in, they bundle up craft kits and send them out for people to work on at home. Her parents no longer have time to feel depressed, and they count money until their hands cramp from fulfilling orders. Her brothers-in-law kneel and beg for forgiveness, her brother becomes the most popular boy at the academy, and the neighborhood wives and mothers stop obsessing over everyone else's business and get to work earning money for their households. What began as a way to pay off the family's debts accidentally turns her into Chang'an's iron lady, and she is even commended by the emperor as a model for women.
