Matters of Urgency in the Mortal World

If you’re going to grow old anyway, you might as well do it with a smile. Life is only a few short decades, and there are already so many rules. Why make yourself miserable? Food matters more than anything. A bowl of wonton noodles in the morning, a bite of roast goose leg late at night: eat happily, and life will be good. Attraction is only human nature. When you see a pretty woman or a beautiful view, take a second look and don’t mind what others say. False piety is the dullest thing of all. Be honest with yourself, and happiness will follow. This book doesn’t preach grand principles. It’s all about life’s little pleasures. Enjoy good food and drink, savor all the color and vitality of life, and you won’t have lived in vain. In short, it’s wonderful to be alive, so live life to the fullest.
