Bone Listener: Tooth Fairy on a Rainy Night

"The Osteologist: The Tooth Fairy on a Rainy Night" tells the story of forensic doctor Qin Wangshu who used the ancestral "bone-listening technique" to detect a series of tooth extraction cases, and discovered that the case was closely related to the death of his sister three years ago and the mystery of the Qingzhen plague twenty years ago. Whenever a rainy night falls, a victim will die with all his teeth missing, but without any scars on his body. During the investigation, Qin Wangshu discovered that the murderer seemed to be able to track her movements backwards through her voice. What was even more shocking was that evidence showed that her teeth actually appeared at the murder scene twenty years ago. As the investigation deepened, a folk taboo "Tooth Fairy" legend that originated from the famine era came to light - Qingzhen people used to mix the teeth of the deceased with sucrose to make "yin sugar" in order to satisfy themselves, and the eater eventually died with all his teeth and bones broken. When all the clues pointed to Qin Wangshu's own family's secret history, she had to face the cruel truth: her sister was not a victim but a voluntary coffin keeper, and she was the final sacrifice for the Tooth Fairy's resurrection. This work combines forensic investigation and folkloric horror, and explores the themes of memory, inheritance and sacrifice through the unique setting of "ostensibility". In the atmosphere of continuous rainy nights, a curse that has spanned twenty years is quietly awakening, and the price of stopping it may be everything Qin Wangshu has.
