A Letter from the Deep Mountains: Burning Secrets and Lies

Lin Xia, a sexy, fiery city reporter, is given what seems like a routine assignment: travel to a remote mountain village and report on the inspiring work of a volunteer teacher. Expecting to write a warm, uplifting story, she instead discovers something unsettling while spending time with the children: they have an inexplicable fear of “the world below the mountain,” and the beloved teacher secretly burns mysterious letters late at night. As Lin Xia investigates, she is shocked to learn that this seemingly simple village is actually under the control of a ruthless illegal mining gang. The teacher has used kind lies to build a fragile world of safety for the children, and Lin Xia’s report could shatter that false peace and plunge everyone into unknown danger. Faced with a choice between the truth and her conscience, what should she do?
