Fox Slough

I inherited my ancestral home in the countryside. The villagers looked away and whispered about the "nine-tailed fox bride." My great-grandmother wrote in her diary: "The women in the family are all vessels. Only by worshiping the fox demon can the peace of the village be kept." I did not believe in evil and threw away the offerings in the ancestral hall. That night, I dreamed of being entangled by a nine-tailed white fox, and the fox-shaped birthmark on my back began to spread. The elders in the village avoided me when they saw me, but the village chief sent me a red wedding dress. I dug out my great-grandmother's belongings and found that she was also the "bride" and eventually turned into bones in the cellar of the ancestral hall. I packed my luggage and wanted to escape, but the entrance to the village was filled with villagers holding torches. "The time has come," the village chief raised his wedding dress, "it's time to go to the ancestral hall."
