The Legend of Meng Jiangnu

More than two thousand years ago, a magical gourd gave birth to an extraordinary woman, Meng Jiangnv. Her story is like a magnificent historical picture, interpreting the development of China and carrying the profound heritage of Chinese civilization.​ Meng Jiangnu and her husband Fan Xiliang were deeply in love, but they were separated due to heavy labor. While the men were doing corvee and military service, Meng Jiangnu showed extraordinary courage and responsibility. She led women and children to work hard to ensure their livelihood; she traveled thousands of miles to deliver winter clothes to the laborers building the city wall, and went through many difficulties and dangers. What is even more shocking is that it is said that her cries actually caused the city wall to collapse. Although it is a legend, it is full of people's deep expectations for an end to war and harsh rule. Therefore, she made immortal contributions to saving the people. Meng Jiangnu's image of kindness, loyalty, and unyielding strength has become a symbol of loyalty and martyrdom. Her fearless spirit of opposing war and pursuing light has transcended time and space and still touches people's hearts today.​ As time goes by, people have always been grateful for the kindness of Meng Jiangnu and Fan Xiliang, building tombs, monuments, and museums to commemorate them. At a time when we are advocating the inheritance of the feelings of family and country, the Pan clan members of Mengjiayu Village wrote an article to promote that the Han clan provided their former residence to give new life to the story of this wonderful Chinese woman.
