Jianfei Fairy Tale

On summer nights when I was a child, cattail leaf fans shook out the tiny stars. My grandma always loved to tell the legend of foxes repaying kindness and cranes holding pearls in their mouths. Those fantasy stories are like seeds, taking root and sprouting in my heart. I lay on the mat and looked at the swaying tree shadows outside the window. I turned the cloth tigers and stuffed rabbits beside my pillow into the protagonists of the story, synchronizing with them physically and mentally.
