You’ve Become Consort Ling, So Why Can’t You Lie Flat?

[Qing Dynasty transmigration, slice of life, no hardship or suffering for the protagonist, clear-headed heroine living life on her own terms, no romantic feelings for the emperor, no romance] Please note: This book is partly fictionalized and does not adhere completely to history. It includes some original changes and settings. “If I could just lie around forever and have someone feed me, that would be perfect.” Wei Qingke died. Those were her last words before she worked herself to death from laziness... “His Majesty has decreed that you be made a Noble Lady Wei! To receive such favor on your first night in attendance is a blessing. There’s more good fortune ahead!” Wei Qingke came back to life. Those were the first words she heard after transmigrating to the Qing Dynasty. “The Qing Dynasty? A Noble Lady? Does this mean I really get to lie around forever without kicking the bucket?” Wei Qingke could barely keep the corners of her mouth from turning up. “My lady, it’s five o’clock. Time to go pay your respects.” But the maid’s words, “pay your respects,” shattered her beautiful dream. Why? Why did she have to get up early for work even after becoming a Noble Lady? The five o’clock sky, the heavy headdress, the long journey, and the sudden harassment from some unknown consort along the way. Wei Qingke was rolling her eyes so hard they nearly reached the heavens. Then she discovered that the reason she was being picked on was that the emperor doted on her too much! “I just want to live in peace and slack off. Why drag me into palace intrigue?” Wei Qingke was overcome with despair. But this was no time for sorrow. After “traveling over mountains and rivers,” Wei Qingke finally reached the empress’s palace. “Let’s hurry up, pay our respects, and go back to sleep. I’ll deal with palace intrigue after I wake up.” Wei Qingke sighed at her miserable fate. But just then, news of overtime came from outside: “His Majesty has arrived!”
