Swallowing the Heavens, Star Prison

In an age of declining spiritual energy and fading cultivation, the mortal youth Lin Ye ventures alone into the forbidden Ten Thousand Snakes Cave to save his gravely ill younger sister. When his bloodstained fingertip touches an ancient green jade ring, the dark golden vertical pupil awakened in his left eye reveals the truth of the world: the so-called cultivation sects are nothing but cages where gods and demons keep all living beings captive.

A star-pattern that devours everything swirls across his palm. The former errand boy climbs to the heavens over the corpses of his enemies. The tribulation-crossing formation laid by the Xuantian Sect over three thousand years roars to life. The medicine hall steward watches from the shadows, eyes bloodshot, while the sword hidden in the sleeve of the enforcement elder rings with a wail from deep within his bloodline.

At the end of the Heavenly Ruins, a colossal dragon corpse, pierced through the heart by bronze chains, suddenly opens its eyes. Its gaze pierces the ninefold Star Prison, merging with the primordial shadow in the youth’s eyes, as though fate has come full circle.

When the Big Dipper hangs upside down and lights the eternal night, everyone finally realizes:

The Heavenly Dao, revered by all living beings, is actually a ring in his palm, on the verge of shattering.
