Elephants Heading North

In March 2020, 16 wild Asian elephants migrated from Xishuangbanna Prefecture to Pu'er City and continued their journey north. In December 2020, an elephant baby was added to Pu'er City, bringing the number of wild Asian elephants to 17. On April 16, 2021, these 17 wild Asian elephants migrated from Mojiang County, Pu'er City to Yuanjiang County, Yuxi City. On April 24, two wild Asian elephants returned to Mojiang County, Pu'er City, and the remaining fifteen continued from Yuanjiang County to Baoxiu Town, Shiping County, Honghe Prefecture, and arrived at Ashan County, Yuxi City on the 24th. These fifteen wild Asian elephants became a "star team" for a while. Because one of them had a young elephant with a broken nose, the elephant group was named the "Broken Nose Family". However, only one elephant has a broken trunk, so why is the entire elephant family named after this defect? Why?
