The Immortal Path Begins with Cultivating Through Tribulations

Zhao Gu transmigrated as a refugee and was forcibly bought into the Li family as a servant.

In this ancient world of rigid social classes, where the poor are devoured without a trace, becoming a servant leaves you not the slightest hope of rising through your own efforts.

So Zhao Gu lay low for more than a decade, quietly making his plans. At first, all he intended was to seize the Li family's fortune at the right moment and become a benevolent lord himself.

But just after he turned thirty, he awakened the Myriad Tribulations golden finger. By killing others in robberies, he could gain a measure of fortune and cultivation experience.

From then on, he changed his ambitions.

A true man shouldn't settle for becoming a benevolent lord. He should cultivate the Way to immortality and live forever.

Of course, Zhao Gu knew how dangerous the cultivation world was. As a cultivator who preyed on others, he had to prioritize quality and keep the number of robberies down!

Laying plans in secret and striking unseen was the safest approach!

He also had to protect his reputation! Otherwise, no one would willingly let him rob them!

And so, the cultivation world gained a kindly man. He was honest, trustworthy, and highly respected, though he did have a bit of a knack for bringing calamity to others.

For people in later generations noticed that wherever he went, a great tribulation was sure to follow.

Many years later, Zhao Gu, whose immortal path had flourished, looked back and discovered that someone was slandering him, claiming he was the mastermind behind the tribulations afflicting the myriad races of the heavens. He flew into a rage:

“Slander! I am a kindly man!”
