The Carefree Crown Prince of Great Ming

After becoming the crown prince of the Ming Dynasty during the Yongle reign, Zhu Gaochi has to contend with Zhu Di's wariness, empty promises, and intimidation. His father still expects him to raise money and govern the country, while his two dear brothers, Zhu Gaoxu and Zhu Gaosui, are itching to make a move and eyeing him hungrily. Looking at his increasingly plump body and thinking of how he will wear himself out and die young, Zhu Gaochi comes to his senses. “Govern the country? Why should I? I want to lose weight and get some rest!” “Second brother, third brother, don't you want to be crown prince? Here, I'll give it to you. There can only be one crown prince, though, so work it out between yourselves.” “Father, my health is poor, so the second brother should take on the burden. Go fight your wars; I won't stop you. But I intend to rest, and you can't stop me either.” “Zhanji, your grandfather likes you best. You must work hard and make something of yourself. This whole family is counting on you.” Zhu Gaochi reclined in his rocking chair, enjoying himself, when a voice shattered his pleasant daydream. “You Zhu, look at the state of things! If you don't want to live, then let's die together right now.” Seeing his furious crown princess, Zhu Gaochi opened his eyes. Years later, as he watched the Ming Dynasty grow ever more prosperous and powerful, with Zhu Di as the Great General of the Northern Expedition, Zhu Gaoxu as the Great General of the Eastern Expedition, and Zhu Gaosui as the Great General of the Western Expedition, Zhu Gaochi smiled.
