From Brass Amulet to Galactic Empire

The galaxy was once prosperous and united, with star gods and humanity ruling the entire realm together. Their boundless technology reached from the control of stars to the manipulation of quarks, and faster-than-light routes connected every spiral arm.

Before humanity could ring the bell proclaiming the galaxy’s unification, an unforeseen collapse tore the Human Empire apart. Faster-than-light routes crumbled. Orks, Tyranids, rogue machine intelligences... The servants of the old order carved up the star systems, while new corruption continued to brew.

Boundless technology was lost to all sides. Star systems that had once been inseparable were engulfed in war. The transport network that had spanned the galaxy was no more. Pirates and merchant traders tangled in the warp, while megacorporations rooted in star systems swept through like locusts. Then, in the tenth millennium, a man wearing a brass amulet smashed through the top-floor room of the Rejuvenat Medical Center. “If you agree, no one has to die today.”
