An Anonymous Letter

Who has been sinking into the mire of unrequited love through a series of anonymous letters sent over seven years? On a windy night in her sophomore year of high school, Chen Ziyao rode past Zhu Xi on her bike. The evening breeze lifted Zhu Xi’s loose hair, and she caught his eye. After that, he gradually began to notice her. Back then, Chen Ziyao’s crush went almost entirely unnoticed. At the school festival, on the playground in the afternoon, and at the corner shop between classes, he was just another part of her surroundings. But before Chen Ziyao could confess his feelings, Zhu Xi died by suicide at home, for reasons that never quite added up. Seven years later, one spring, Chen Ziyao suddenly began receiving anonymous collections of poetry, each arriving at the time of a corresponding solar term: the Spring Equinox, Pure Brightness, Grain Rain... The handwriting in the books looked a little like Zhu Xi’s, as he remembered it. As the past came to light, Chen Ziyao once again found himself caught between memories and friends, trying to dispel the fog that had lingered in his heart for seven years...
