I Helped the Unfavored Noble Consort Rise, and Now the Palace Dotes on Me

[Transmigration + palace intrigue + an underdog's rise] Wei Xiaoxing transmigrates into a grand palace-intrigue drama and faces execution by beating from the start. It's a disastrous opening. She grits her teeth and clings to Consort Yao's coattails. “I'm not some useless servant of yours. I'm a sister who can make you money! Please take me on as your mistress, my golden benefactor!” Consort Yao: ... * For half a year, not a single item sold at Consort Yao's little shop in the imperial harem. But ever since Wei Xiaoxing helped her build “Yao Donglai,” business has been booming. “Top-grade imperial green jade, and she only makes twenty taels of silver? Sister Consort Yao is beautiful and kindhearted!” “Affordable Song brocade made of pure mulberry silk. Consort Yao treats us like real sisters.” “The rouge Consort Yao sells contains no safflower. Sisters hoping to conceive a royal heir, feel free to use it.” The consorts stop fighting over the emperor, too, and head hand in hand to Consort Yao's little supermarket every day. Consort Yao wakes each morning to gold raining down on her. To repay Wei Xiaoxing, she asks the emperor to grant her a suitable marriage match. A powerful minister, a military general, or the top scholar of the imperial examinations: she can take her pick. But when the Eighth Prince, who is always at odds with Wei Xiaoxing, hears the news, he storms into the imperial court with a blade in hand. “Anyone who dares marry Wei Xiaoxing will have to step over my dead body first!” P.S. The male lead mistreats the heroine early on, then spends the later part chasing her in a desperate attempt to win her back. See how an ordinary person survives the dangers of the imperial harem, taking one careful step at a time.
