After Being Locked Away to Learn My Place, I Fell Out of Love, and His Majesty Panicked

Before dying, Xie Zhan's beloved, Li Yanxin, used her last breath to leave him a few paintings. When one was burned during a palace banquet, he assumed I was responsible. In front of everyone, he cast me aside, then threw me into the palace's forbidden prison to make me reflect on my mistakes. The day I was locked away, my three-year-old daughter wept inconsolably. “Mother, don't leave me behind.”

Two years later, Xie Zhan had me released. My daughter blurted out, “Why didn't you die in there?”

“I'm not your daughter. My mother is Consort Yi.”

Consort Yi, Li Zhiyi, was the younger sister of Xie Zhan's beloved, Li Yanxin. I smiled and patted my daughter's head. “If that's what you wished for on your fifth birthday, I promise.”

Later, they searched the whole world, but never found a trace of me.
