I Tried to Save a Patient, but They Accused Me of Practicing Medicine Without a License

My neighbor drank pesticide, so I performed first aid and saved his life. To my surprise, he contacted the media that very day, accused me of practicing medicine without a license, and demanded that I pay his daughter’s medical bills. Even though everything I did was appropriate, the authorities still suspended my medical license, and the hospital transferred me to another position. Six months after I left the profession, my neighbor developed a rare tumor that required surgery. He had no idea that I was the only surgeon in the country who could perform the operation.
