My Sister-in-Law’s Baby Is Breech, but My Mother Says She’s Carrying a Child of Guanyin

My sister-in-law’s baby was in a dangerous breech position. But Mom excitedly said it meant the child would be born sitting in the lotus position, a gift from the Goddess of Mercy. I tried to warn them that this greatly increased the risk of a difficult birth and the baby needed to be turned in time. Dad called me a jinx and kicked me to the ground. With no way to reason with them, I secretly used moxibustion on my sleeping sister-in-law’s Zhiyin acupoint to turn the baby. When she woke up, she slapped me, accusing me of envying her for having a son, then called my brother over to beat me viciously with a belt. My sister-in-law suddenly went into premature labor, and the whole family accompanied her to the hospital. When I opened my eyes again, Mom was excitedly saying her grandson was a Golden Boy in the service of the Goddess of Mercy. I smiled and echoed, “Congratulations, Mom, on your precious grandson.”
