After My Childhood Friend Framed Me for Plagiarism, I Married the Young Duke

I accepted the young duke’s marriage proposal, but my childhood sweetheart, who doted on me, had no idea. He was busy composing poems and painting with my maid, admiring flowers together. Hoping to become a better match for my sweetheart, the maid recited at a poetry gathering a poem I’d privately written for the two of them. She won first place!

I tried to prove my innocence, but my sweetheart, who had always favored me, denied it on the spot. “Xiao Lian wrote that poem. She may be a servant, but she’s dedicated to her studies. That’s truly commendable!” I couldn’t defend myself and became a wretch accused of stealing my own maid’s work, mocked by everyone. The two of them even scolded me for making a fuss. “Xiao Lian needs this chance to make a name for herself more than you do. Don’t be so petty!”

Faced with my sweetheart’s indifference, I turned around and accepted the sickly young duke’s proposal. “He needs a wife more than you do. Don’t be so petty.”
