After I Was Kicked Out for Volunteering to Teach in the Countryside, the Whole Village Was Racked with Regret

I gave up the chance to stay on at my university and volunteered to teach in a rural village. I tutored the children for free and even provided them with dinner. In return, the kids would occasionally help me tend the vegetable garden. But then a popular online teacher who also tutored for free came to the village. The parents angrily insulted me. “The other teacher can quickly improve the children’s grades, while you just want our kids to work for you for free!” I tried to explain. “I won’t judge someone else’s teaching methods. The children volunteer to look after the crops because they like my cooking.” The parents refused to believe me. They trashed my classroom and held my family hostage, ruining my reputation. They didn’t know that the online teacher was famous for being two-faced and using flashy tricks to attract attention. Once the hype and traffic died down, they’d be tossed aside like trash. But I wouldn’t be playing the saint anymore.
