Reborn, I Chose Taotie as My Beast Companion, and the Dragon God Went Mad with Regret

In my last life, I let my softheartedness get the better of me when choosing a beast companion, and picked a dying, unwanted, scoundrel of a snake. Who knew he carried the bloodline of a true dragon? I risked my life to find rare treasures and help him ascend into a dragon.

But at our bond ceremony, he summoned the tribulation lightning, transformed into a black dragon, and slaughtered all 180 members of my sect. Meanwhile, he took my junior sister with him as he ascended to the upper realm, where they embraced and looked down upon all living things.

When I opened my eyes again, I scooped up the cat that had been hiding in the grass, watching the spectacle. The scoundrel snake frantically coiled around my leg.

“I’m a true dragon! Why didn’t you choose me?”
