Three Kingdoms: Comparing Adopted Sons Leaves Dong Zhuo Stunned

In 190 AD, Dong Zhuo moved Emperor Xian of Han to Chang’an to avoid the might of the eighteen allied warlords. The following year, Dong Zhuo declared himself Grand Tutor, placing himself above the feudal lords. One night, just as Dong Zhuo was about to practice his foreign language with a beauty from the Western Regions, two screens suddenly appeared before him. And so, Dong Zhuo saw the different fates awaiting him, depending on which of his adopted sons he chose to promote. One was [Marquis Wen, Lü Bu], who joined forces with Wang Yun to plot Dong Zhuo’s assassination. The other was [Grand General of Heavenly Strategy, Heroic Emperor, Genghis Khan, Founding Emperor of Wei, Dong Tianbao], who protected Dong Zhuo and helped him unite the Three Kingdoms and pacify the realm. Dong Zhuo took this as a warning from Heaven and began promoting Dong Tianbao. Thus began a very different Three Kingdoms. He subdued Zhang Xiu, executed Yuan Shao, killed Yuan Shu, crushed Cao Cao, defeated Liu Bei, captured Sun Quan, attacked Zhang Lu, suppressed Liu Biao, and beheaded Liu Zhang... until he united the realm. Just as Dong Zhuo was celebrating the unification of the realm, Dong Tianbao led his troops to arrest him and struck him down with a single blow. “Adoptive father, now that the realm is united, you can rest in peace.”
