Never Fall in Love with an Ascendant

“We come from a world called the Cangling Continent. We were watching the first person in the history of the Cangling Continent, Lu Qingping, ascend through her tribulation when the spatial storm unleashed by the opening of the Heavenly Gate swept us into a spatial rift. We fell to Blue Star by pure accident…” That’s what the visitors from beyond the stars said.

As a result, Earth entered an era of spiritual qi revival, where civilizations merged and cultivation coexisted with technology.

As everyone threw themselves into cultivation, either training desperately or searching for the otherworldly objects that had fallen to Blue Star, Gong Xiaonian only wanted to quietly be a scumbag in this new era and give the girls a warm harbor.

Then one day, everything changed.

He found the woman who had ascended.

The fake version of an ascender: powerful, invincible, battle-hardened, looking down on all living beings, supreme and unmatched…

The real ascender: innocent, pure, naive, with the heart of a child, and obedient to a fault…

So Gong Xiaonian invited her home… or, rather, talked her into it.

…

…

Years later, the truth came out, and Gong Xiaonian reluctantly gave an interview.

“Mr. Gong, what do you have to say about secretly keeping Lu Qingping?”

“First of all, I didn’t keep her a secret. I took her in, all right? And I didn’t take her in so she’d teach me cultivation, or because I coveted her beauty. I, Gong, am simply kindhearted, benevolent, and righteous!”

“Then why did she become your girlfriend?”

“Ahem…”

“Anything else you’d like to say?”

“Never date an ascender!”

“Why?”

“You’ll lose.”
