She's a Cannon-Fodder Concubine in the Cold Palace, Yet the Tyrant Summons Her Night After Night

[Palace intrigue group chat + timid heroine’s growth + paranoid tyrant + sweet romance + devoted to each other] College student Qin Yao is transported into a palace-intrigue novel as a disposable extra. From the start, she is framed and sent to the cold palace. Just as she is about to despair, she gets bound to a red-envelope group chat for bewitching empresses and favored consorts. The group includes Baosi, who set the feudal lords aflame just to see her smile; Zhao Feiyan, who believed that with her sister at her side, the world was hers; and Jiang Yuyan, so pure and innocent that she could kill without batting an eye... Well, she’s done putting up with the wretched conditions in the cold palace. She’s going to climb into the emperor’s bed, sleep with the tyrant, and become a bewitching consort second only to one and above all others! When a severe drought strikes the realm, she takes the initiative to kneel and offer herself in sacrifice. She performs the “Dance on the Palm” and says, “May Your Majesty enjoy good health; may our dynasty endure for generations.” To everyone’s astonishment, the tyrant grants her the title Yao, makes an exception to release her from the cold palace, and appoints her a First-Class Attendant named Yao. Qin Yao smiles brightly as she kneels to give thanks, but mutters under her breath, “That dog emperor is so stingy!” After all that effort and all those performances, he’s only made her a lowly attendant! Little does she know... Every move she makes has caught his eye. A faint smile appears on his usually stern face, and he announces, “In addition, I bestow upon her Fengchao Palace, ten thousand taels of gold, and tribute Shu brocade...” At her first formal greeting, the Noble Consort deliberately makes things difficult for her, but Qin Yao turns the situation to her advantage and wins a night with the emperor. In the bath, he grips her chin, his eyes dark. “Aren’t you always afraid of me? How did you dare ask me to save you?” With her scheme exposed, Qin Yao flatters him ingratiatingly. “Your Majesty, you’re the only one I can rely on in the palace. You’re my heaven and my earth...” He scoffs. “Then use those tricks you just learned to attend to your heaven and earth.”
