From Earth God to Saint of Blessings

For countless years, the mortal world below the mountains has seen endless change, while the immortals above vie back and forth for the power of faith and destiny.

Some say that when the chief minister of that dynasty died, the courage of a scholar shook the entire court and cowed its treacherous officials.

Others say that a sword immortal of the martial world fought demons against impossible odds, while a famed general at the frontier resisted monsters with his raw vitality, keeping the land at peace.

The future emperor, still a babe in swaddling clothes, had double pupils, an unmistakable sign of a great struggle to come.

And before a temple by a certain little hill, the young Jin Fenghua transformed into a true god, becoming a tutelary deity and protecting the land around him.

One hears no scholar settle the fate of a realm with a single word, nor sees a fierce general’s iron hooves trample dry bones.

All one hears is that a century of chaos has begun. The Buddha withdraws from the world, the Daoist retreats into seclusion, and only the Saint of Blessings and Virtue invites all the gods of heaven and earth to begin another game of Renegade Immortal!
