New Shenzhen People

The novel tells the story of the growth of Lin Kangping and his colleagues at the Meizhi Factory in Shenzhen in the 1980s and 1990s, and depicts the struggles of migrant workers in Shenzhen. They are upright, kind, perseverant, unwilling to be ordinary, and unwilling to be manipulated by fate. They walked out of impoverished rural areas and came to Shenzhen Special Economic Zone to pursue their ideals. Finally, I bought a house in Shenzhen and settled down, becoming a new Shenzhen native. It interprets the Shenzhen spirit of "pioneering, innovative, united and dedicated". Through the storyline of the protagonist looking for a job, entering a factory, studying at night college, getting promoted, production management, and technological innovation, it shows the development achievements of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and highlights the prosperous Shenzhen city. The novel also tells the love stories between Lin Kangping and girls with different destinies such as Jia Xiaomeng, Nan Feiyan, Xu Caihong, and Li Xiaofan. Telling about their labor and love, pursuit and frustration, ideals and reality, marriage and family, it records the stories of characters that happened in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone in the new era from multiple angles and levels.
