In My Fifth Year as the Marquis's Second Wife, I Divorced Him

My older sister was the marquis's beloved, his lawfully wedded wife. I was the woman his family had carefully chosen to become his second wife. The year my sister passed away, she left me a son and a daughter and entrusted me with raising them. The marquis and his children adored my sister and kept their distance from me. No matter how lovingly I cared for them, five years of devotion couldn't compare to one maidservant. When the marquis brought a maid back from a banquet and asked me to arrange a place for her to stay, I suddenly felt tired. I took out the divorce agreement the marquis had handed me on our wedding night five years ago. His hand was still resting on the maid's waist as he studied me for a long while. “Is this because of that maid?” I looked at her. She wasn't particularly beautiful, but she bore a passing resemblance to my sister. For a lovesick marquis, even that was enough. I nodded. “Yes, it's because of that maid.”
