Yun Yuan Is Not to Be Pursued

My mother was a woman who had transmigrated from another world. She was extraordinarily brilliant and wanted only one devoted husband for her entire life. Father went to great lengths to win her hand. She carefully considered every man I had my eye on and finally settled on the young general. It wasn’t until our third year of marriage that I discovered he had taken a mistress. My mother’s eyes reddened. “Your father recently took another concubine, too.” She told me that if this body of hers died, she would be able to return to her original world. That day, Mother set fire to the residence. Watching my husband and his mistress act so devoted to each other, I thought it was time for me to leave, too.
