As the criminal killed me, my detective father and chief forensic pathologist mother were with my younger sister, Yan Shuang, at her competition. The criminal my father had once arrested wanted revenge, so he used my phone to call him. Dad said just one thing before hanging up. “Whatever it is, your sister Yan Shuang’s competition comes first today!” The criminal sneered. “Looks like I kidnapped the wrong person. I thought they loved their biological daughter more!” When my parents arrived at the crime scene, they were horrified by the state of the body and furious at the killer’s cruelty. Yet they didn’t recognize that the dead girl was their own daughter.
This is the worst piece I have ever read in the short story circle. The threshold for novels is still too low, and any bad money will be enough.
