The Fortunate Concubine-Born Daughter

After my aunt gave birth to me, her health was permanently damaged. She always blamed herself for not bearing a son for the Fan family, so she doted on the son her mistress had given birth to. Day after day, she told me I was a concubine-born daughter, my brother's servant. When he ate, I served his food. When he wrote, I ground his ink. In the dead of winter, my aunt ordered me to catch fish in the river, just so my brother could build up his strength. Later, when the Fan family fell into decline, my aunt sold me to buy my brother a cotton quilt. In the end, I died in the freezing river outside the Zuihong House. Reborn into another life, whoever wants to be a lowly concubine-born daughter can have the role. This time, I'm living for myself.
