After Ten Years of Marriage, I Don't Want Either My Husband or Son Anymore

On the day my son competed in a piano contest, I got into a car accident on my way there. Without even checking my injuries, I limped to the venue and arrived just in time for the awards ceremony. He won the gold medal and ran toward me, visibly excited. I smiled and lowered my head, but he turned around and hung the medal around the neck of the woman my husband had always loved. Even my husband, whom I had loved for ten years, snapped impatiently, “Look at what you’re wearing! You’re covered in dirt, like a beggar!” “Don’t come to our son’s celebration dinner tonight. He’s embarrassed by you!” I said nothing and went to the hospital alone to get checked out. I ran back to the villa through the rain, only to find the door bolted from the inside. I knocked on it for the entire night as torrential rain poured down. When the first light of dawn appeared on the horizon, I sent them a message: “Let’s get divorced. Just as you wanted, I won’t get in your way anymore.”
