Back to the Day I Chose a Husband, I Laid a Peerless Peacock Egg

I was a peacock princess. When I came of age, every male in the peacock clan came to court me. I chose Qingshan, a green peacock of noble blood, yet after we married, I gave birth to a lowly white peacock. The moment Qingshan saw the chick, he flew into a rage, snatched it up and smashed it to death. Then he slit my throat and plucked my feathers while I was still in my original form, before throwing me to the beasts to be devoured. My elder sister married a blue peacock of the second rank and gave birth to a rare purple peacock. Her husband became the new King of All Birds. When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day I chose Qingshan as my husband. In front of everyone, he rejected me and asked to marry my sister instead. I knew he had been reborn too. He thought marrying my sister would let him father a purple peacock. But this time, he couldn’t even sire the lowliest black peacock.
