Old Master, Times Have Changed

Xu Xing wanders through the busy urban streets with his obsession with the taste memory of his past life. Walking to a restaurant called the Eight Immortals Restaurant, the pictures of the dishes on the signboard seemed to have a spiritual charm, which aroused his desire for food in his heart, especially the fried pork with chili peppers, which really made people's appetites rise. His love in his previous life made him involuntarily step into the restaurant. The store was bustling with people, and the noises came and went like a tide. The laughter of the diners, the clatter of tableware, and the noise from the kitchen intertwined into a human piece full of fireworks. Xu Xing was dressed in a black robe, and his figure was tall and straight, but there was a bit of coldness that was incompatible with the surroundings. He glanced at everyone in the store indifferently, like an otherworldly bystander, and finally found a quiet corner and sat down slowly. As soon as we sat down, a young clerk came over in a hurry. She had a somewhat professional smile on her face, but her eyes could not hide a trace of doubt and curiosity. She seemed to be surprised by this unique guest in an ancient robe. After all, in this era, there are few monks who dress up so rigidly. "Waiter, take your order!" Xu Xing's voice was low and magnetic, with the customary address from his previous life in his words. The young clerk was startled for a moment, then showed an awkward but polite smile, and quickly replied with a smile: "Senior, I am the waiter, please tell me what you want to order. Our signature dish is Huaiyang cuisine, and the braised lion head is a must..." The corners of Xu Xing's mouth raised slightly, revealing an imperceptible smile, as if he was feeling novel about the changes in this era, and as if he was recalling those familiar scenes in the past years. He didn't bother with the title. He glanced at the menu for a moment, and the taste memory of his previous life gradually became clear in his heart. He opened his mouth to interrupt the waiter's eloquent introduction. "Come and have a piece of your signature braised lion's head, the meat is fresh and tender and melts in your mouth. And the roast duck, the skin is crispy and the meat is tender, it must be delicious. Give me a try too. And the famous Northeastern dish, braised pork ribs with green beans." "What Huaiyang food? Master Dao, I want to eat Sichuan food right now. The fish head with chopped pepper is arranged for me. The spicy taste is the most attractive. I also want a portion of Mapo tofu. This must be made hot, spicy, fragrant, tender and refreshing, and finally add a stir-fried chili pepper. The meat must be cooked well, the pot must be steamy, and the taste must be rich and mellow." Xu Xing's voice is not high-pitched, but his words are clear. Every dish name spoken by him seems to be filled with deep attachment to the taste of his previous life, and his eyes also reveal it. He had some expectations, hoping that these familiar dishes could once again awaken those long-sleeping beautiful memories in this strange era and strange store, allowing him to find a long-lost scent of human fireworks and spiritual comfort in this bustling and noisy city. "Okay, no problem! Senior, you know how to eat it as soon as you see it!" Hearing this compliment, Xu Xing was in a good mood. He was just about to take out a few spiritual stones as tips to send to the waiter when he heard her say: "Senior, I see that you have ordered so many multi-flavored dishes, and you need a soup. Well, we happen to have a special offer of corn rib soup today." When Xu Xing heard this, he immediately gave up the idea of tipping and asked with an unhappy face: "Do I look like someone who knows how to eat special dishes?" Faced with Xu Xing's rhetorical question, the waitress was a little unable to answer. Fortunately, Xu Xing was in a good mood now and did not embarrass her. Instead, he continued to smile and said: "It's okay, let's have a taste."

Not long after, corn ribs soup took the lead. In the milky white soup, there are fresh and tender corn segments and ribs. The aroma spreads with the steaming heat. Xu Xing sniffed lightly and found that the mellow aroma was quite authentic. He then took a sip of the soup. The sweetness of the corn and the deliciousness of the ribs blended on the tip of his tongue. Although it was not the best, it still managed to evoke some of the taste in his past life. After all, it was just a special offer. He nodded slightly in approval. Immediately afterwards, the roast duck was served. The skin was roasted until golden and crispy, exuding a unique burnt aroma. Xu Xing tore off a piece of duck meat and put it in his mouth. The meat was firm and the flavor of spices permeated it. Unfortunately, the heat was slightly lacking and failed to perfectly combine the tenderness of the duck meat with the richness of the spices, but it was acceptable. He frowned slightly, still looking forward to the subsequent dishes. The braised lion head followed. The meatballs were round and plump, lying in the clear soup, with a few green onions garnished on top. Xu Xing scooped up a spoonful of soup and put it into his mouth. The soup had more flavor but not enough mellowness. Although the meat of the lion's head was thin, it lacked a bit of firmness and elasticity. The texture was slightly loose, and the proportion of fat was too small. Instead of using the ratio of 30-70, it was 28-80, which was not oily enough at all. It was completely unable to awaken his sleeping taste bud memory. He shook his head slightly, feeling a little regretful in his heart. Then the fish head with chopped pepper appeared. The fish head was fresh and tender, the chopped pepper was bright red, and the aroma was fragrant. However, when he entered the mouth, Xu Xing noticed that the spiciness of the chopped pepper was superficial and did not blend deeply with the tenderness of the fish. Moreover, the heat control was slightly off, and the tenderness of the fish was not fully displayed. A trace of disappointment flashed in his eyes, and his initial expectations for the meal gradually cooled down. Next, Mapo Tofu was served. It was dull in color and soft in texture, lacking the spicy, spicy and tender texture it should have. After Xu Xing tasted it, he felt helpless. This was far from the delicious food in his memory. He frowned and continued to wait for the most anticipated dish of fried pork with chili. Although at this time, he no longer had too many expectations for the fried pork with chili pepper, when this dish was placed in front of him, Xu Xing's eyes instantly dimmed a bit. I saw that the meat slices on the plate were limp and the chili peppers were dull in color, without the bright and attractive appearance in my memory. He picked up a chopstick and put it into his mouth. It was bland and tasteless, and there was no trace of "pot smell". The soul of the pyrotechnic smell seemed to be pulled away, leaving only the mechanical combination of ingredients. Xu Xing frowned, feeling disappointed in his heart, and his anticipation for the meal turned into helplessness. However, Xu Xing's expression suddenly changed when a dish of braised pork ribs with green beans was served at the next table. His eyes were sharp, and he could see at a glance that the beans were dull in color and had wrinkled skin, which were clearly signs of old age, but they were not actually ripe. Xu Xing knew that such uncooked beans contain toxins and are very likely to cause food poisoning after consumption. He frowned, secretly thinking that the cooking skills in this restaurant's kitchen were really worrying. He couldn't even control the rawness and ripeness of the ingredients, and he was even more worried about the safety of other diners. Thinking of this, Xu Xing slowly got up and was a little annoyed, and decided to go to the back kitchen to find out how many dangerous "hidden dangers" were hidden in this seemingly ordinary hotel kitchen, and also to see if he could restore the delicious food in his memory on this otherworldly stove. He stood up and walked to the kitchen, his heart full of doubts and anger. In the back kitchen, the chefs were busy shuttling between the stove and the chopping board, but Xu Xing's eyes were attracted to the stove. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a device driven by spiritual stones. However, its spiritual power transmission was disordered, and its firepower was weak and uneven. No wonder the fried dishes were so pale. With a thought in his mind, he decided to improve it himself.

Xu Xing looked around and found a quiet corner. He danced his hands and spiritual power poured out from his fingertips, outlining mysterious and complex spiritual formation patterns in the air. The runes shimmered, intertwined and connected in series, gradually forming an exquisite and powerful spiritual energy gathering array. He connected the formation to the spiritual stone stove, and spiritual power poured in along the veins. In an instant, the flames of the stove suddenly rose, and the originally sluggish fire became fierce and agile. The blue flames jumped happily, exuding a hot and stable high temperature, and the surrounding air trembled slightly due to the powerful fluctuations of spiritual power. "The stove is ready, let's make a dish by ourselves." After improving the stove, Xu Xing turned towards the dish table, picked up a piece of fat and thin pork, and with a flick of his spiritual power, the pork was instantly cut into evenly thin slices, as thin as a cicada's wings but intact, and each slice was pink and tender. He selected a few more fresh peppers. Under the influence of spiritual power, the peppers were quickly washed, seeded, and cut into hob-shaped pieces. They were emerald green and exuded a fresh spicy flavor. After the ingredients were prepared, Xu Xing placed the iron pot on the improved stove, injected spiritual power into the bottom of the pot, and when the pot was hot until it smoked slightly, he poured in a little oil extracted from spiritual plants. The fat melts instantly and makes a sweet "sizzling" sound, which is like the prelude to the joyful song between the pot and the ingredients. Immediately afterwards, he put the sliced meat in. The moment the sliced meat entered the pot, the surface quickly tightened and turned an attractive golden color. Xu Xing waved the spatula, and the sliced meat flipped up and down in the pot. The force and angle were precisely controlled with each flip to ensure that the sliced meat was evenly heated. As the meat pieces are gradually stir-fried to produce oil, the aroma comes out, which is the mellow aroma of the pork itself that is fully stimulated. Xu Xing sprinkled some salt to taste, then added ginger slices and minced garlic to stir-fry until fragrant. Instantly, the spiciness and freshness intertwined to form a rich compound aroma. At this time, he poured the chili peppers into the pot. The chili peppers and the meat slices collided fiercely under the high temperature, and the sound of "crackling" was heard endlessly. Xu Xing quickly stirred the pot, wrapping his spiritual energy around the ingredients, allowing the chili peppers to quickly absorb the fat from the meat slices and at the same time penetrate its own spiciness into the meat slices. I saw the red and white contrasting with each other in the pot, the colors were bright and eye-catching, and the aroma became stronger, permeating the entire kitchen. Before serving, Xu Xing added a few drops of vinegar to enhance the aroma, and then sprinkled a handful of green onion for decoration. A dish of chili fried pork with excellent color, aroma and taste is presented in front of you. The meat slices are bright and tender, the chili peppers are crispy and spicy, and the steaming heat exudes the charm of stimulating appetite. Xu Xing brought the plate of chili fried pork cooked by himself to the table, sat down again, picked up a piece of meat and put it into his mouth with anticipation. In an instant, the spicy taste explodes in the mouth. The meat slices are tender and juicy, with just the right chewiness. The spiciness of the pepper blends perfectly with the aroma of the pork. The rich and mellow taste jumps and dances on the tip of the tongue. Every chew releases more delicious factors and impacts the taste buds. The familiar "pot gas", with the enthusiasm and vitality of earthly fireworks, made him intoxicated, as if he had returned to those ordinary and happy dining table times in his previous life. A sense of satisfaction arose spontaneously, and a happy smile appeared on his face. This meal, from disappointment to surprise, Xu Xing relied on his spiritual power and persistence in food to rediscover the lost taste in this urban restaurant. It also allowed him to once again feel the true meaning of ordinary life in this bustling and noisy world. It was like a stone dropped into the lake of his heart, creating ripples of warmth and satisfaction that lingered for a long time.

Would Xu Sandao be like this?

"I really want to recreate the milk tea I drank in my previous life!" Xu Xing looked at the bustling modern city in front of him, and the long-dead and dust-laden memories were attacking him. In the past years, the unique sweet smell of milk tea lingered in his heart like an obsession that was difficult to let go. He kept driving him to explore the familiar flavors in this smoky city corner, and personally experienced making various famous drinks, trying to awaken the long-sleeping taste memory of the world. "Once the idea comes, practice it and do it." Soon after, standing in front of the clean and bright operation desk of the milk tea shop, Xu Xing's black robe gently fluttered in the wind, and his tall and tall posture was in sharp contrast with the surrounding modern facilities. His face was as cold as frost and snow, but his eyes revealed curiosity and expectation for the milk tea he was about to make, just like the twinkling stars in the quiet cold night. The ingredients needed to make raw coconut latte were placed in front of him, including fresh green coconut, fragrant coffee liquid, clear ice cubes and fragrant milk, like spiritual objects waiting for him to cast a "spell". Xu Xing stretched out his slender and well-jointed hands and gently held the green coconut. His fingertips touched the rough coconut shell, and a simple feeling originating from the earth was transmitted along his fingertips. He mobilized the spiritual power in his body and quietly scratched the top of the coconut shell. It was like untying the natural seal, and the sweet coconut juice gurgled out. In an instant, the fresh coconut fragrance filled the air, like a gust of sea breeze carrying the whisper of the coconut forest. Xu Xing closed his eyes slightly, immersed in the fragrance, and the image of leisurely enjoying coconut milk on the beach of the earth in his previous life vaguely appeared in his mind. Although it was blurry, it made the corners of his lips curl up slightly, as if he was in tune with his past self. Then, Xu Xing slowly poured the coffee liquid, and the dark brown liquid fell into the cup. The rich and mellow aroma instantly intertwined with the fragrance of coconut. His eyes were focused, and his spiritual power was secretly flowing, and he accurately controlled the ratio of the two, as if he was harmonizing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Every drop of coffee poured into his respect and expectation for this drink. When pouring the milk, his movements were gentle and soothing, as if he were drawing a delicate picture. The white milk is like a flowing stream, meeting and merging with coffee and coconut milk in the cup, gradually forming wonderful color layers. Xu Xing holds the mixing stick in his hand, pours spiritual energy into it along his arm, and stirs gently to perfectly blend the flavors of the three. The moment the ice cubes are added, the crisp impact sound breaks the moment of tranquility, giving this cup of raw coconut latte a refreshing and refreshing coolness. Xu Xing stared at the seductively lustrous drink in his hand and took a sip. The sweetness of coconut first bloomed on the tip of his tongue, followed by the richness of coffee and the mellowness of milk. The taste was smooth and rich in layers. At that moment, a touch of indescribable satisfaction appeared on his stern face. Through this cup of milk tea, the warmth and beauty of the world slowly flowed into his spiritual heart that had gone through vicissitudes of life, filling the silence on the spiritual path. Strain the sago and rinse with cold water to make it more chewy. Then, carefully peel out the grapefruit pulp. The bright red color is like jumping flames, adding a bit of freshness to this drink. Xu Xing put the mango pulp into the juicer and added an appropriate amount of coconut milk. With the roar of the machine, golden color and white color blended together, exuding an alluring aroma. He poured the squeezed mango and coconut milk slurry into the bowl, and then added sago and grapefruit pulp in sequence. Every movement was careful, as if he was carving a rare treasure. Finally, plugging in the straw, Xu Xing looked at this bowl of colorful poplar nectar, and his heart was filled with joy. Take a gentle sip, and the sweetness of mango, the slight sourness of grapefruit, the elasticity of sago, and the mellowness of coconut milk played a cheerful symphony of taste in his mouth. The rich and harmonious taste made him intoxicated. The memories of past lives came like a tide. Those ordinary and happy moments became particularly clear at this moment. The emotions of the world were infinitely magnified in this small bowl of drink, which made this monk deeply attached to it. Xu Xing sighed from the bottom of his heart: "Modernization is so good!"

"Boom!" A loud noise came, and the retreat room was instantly blasted open by a powerful force, filling the air with smoke and dust. "Which bastard dares to disturb my retreat!" Xu Xing rushed out angrily. In front of him was a young man wearing strange clothes and dyed yellow hair. At this moment, he was hovering in mid-air on a flying sword that emitted colorful light. What the hell is this? Yellow hair? Colorful flying sword? When did the world of immortality become so colorful? "Old man, your place has good feng shui. My flying sword accidentally lost control and crashed in. Here is the compensation list. Please see how you want to compensate!" The yellow-haired boy threw out a piece of paper with a joking look on his face. Xu Xing took the list, which read "Mental damage fee: 100,000 high-grade spiritual stones, flying sword wear and tear, 50,000 high-grade spiritual stones." Xu Xing nodded with satisfaction. It seems that this little guy still knows how to be polite. This compensation is not heavy. It will be enough for him to use for a long time. "Okay, since you agree, then pay it." Xiao Huangmao laughed heartily. "Me?" Xu Xing was a little confused. "Yes, if it wasn't you, how could it still be me?" Xiao Huangmao didn't hide it at all. "You are blackmailing!" "My place was hit by you, and I didn't ask you to settle the score. How dare you ask me for money?" Xu Xing jumped in anger. Today's young people do not respect martial ethics and bully him, an old man who has just entered cultivation. "Hey, old man, don't be ungrateful." "My flying sword is a limited edition, and the painting on it is painted with thousand-year-old soul blood. It is very precious!" "If you don't pay, I will ask my boss to deal with you. He is the president of the Sword Flying Management Association here!" The yellow-haired boy said very arrogantly. Oh my bad temper, if the tiger doesn't show off its power, do you think I'm a sick cat? Xu Xing was about to get angry, but the yellow-haired boy's eyes suddenly lit up, as if he had seen some great savior. He turned around and shouted to the sky: "Boss, you are here! This old man wants to default on his debt!" I saw a figure in the sky, wearing more fancy clothes and with his hair standing tall, floating slowly down. He was holding a fireworks stick that was "sizzling" and emitting sparks. When he saw Xu Xing suddenly turning around, the atmosphere suddenly felt awkward. He coughed twice, and then said innocently: "Oh, I want to celebrate our meeting, do you believe it..." Xu Xing looked confused, thinking: When did this world of immortality become an acrobatic troupe? I remember that this is obviously a world of cultivating immortals. But he has been practicing for many years, and he is not a fool. I saw Xu Xing suppressing his anger and said coldly: "What you are doing is simply nonsense! Don't think that I am easy to bully." The fancy boss didn't care, waving the fireworks stick in his hand and said: " Are you good at fighting? " "It's useless to be able to fight." "When you come out to hang out, you need to talk about your power and background!" After saying that, the fancy boss even patted the shiny decoration on his body, which seemed to represent his endless power and status. Xu Xing was so angry at these words that he almost couldn't help laughing. The young people in the world of cultivating immortals are really getting better and better at playing. Are they even talking about blackmail so confidently? "Humph, power? Background?" Xu Xing snorted coldly, "I want to see how powerful your so-called power can be!" "Hey! Look behind you!" Huang Mao shouted, covering his mouth. "Hmph! Do you think I will fall for you a second time?"

It's getting more and more boring to read. It's like useless. Invincible is not pretentious, and there's no improvement in being invincible. I don't know what I'm reading now. It's the first time I've read a novel and I have this feeling. It feels like it's well written, but it's like forgetting to add salt when cooking. It's really boring.

I'm just curious about a question, how shady is the protagonist's identity?

I wish everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival. There are still 132 days until New Year's Eve. I would like to wish everyone a happy new year 😁😁

At first I thought it was amazing, with novel subject matter and sophisticated writing techniques. The more I watched it, the more it looked like an old-fashioned urban drama.
