Sexy Nine-Tailed Fox Solves Cases and Earns Merit Online

[Metaphysics + catching demons and ghosts + episodic stories] The fox spirit Bai Mingwang was struck by lightning and turned into a wicked female supporting character, saddled with the task of repaying ten thousand merit tokens. On her first foray into the human world, she exposed a charlatan Taoist priest, went viral, and was swarmed by reporters. When a young reporter asked about her love life, she said, “Your boyfriend is a psychopath.” With that one offhand remark, the Xicheng dismemberment case was solved. After the killer was caught, a golden glow appeared on Bai Mingwang’s fox tail. System: Congratulations, Host. You’ve repaid your first merit token. Just one? At this rate, it’ll take three hundred years to repay all ten thousand! As she fretted over this, Zhou Ciwei, who had just left the police station like her, made matters even worse with a single sentence: “I’m here to collect what you owe me.” One hundred million! Bai Mingwang smiled bitterly and embarked on a long journey of livestreaming, catching ghosts, solving cases, and paying off her debt. Her first client was another reporter. This reporter was something else: she went undercover in a coal mine, survived a near-death escape through the sewers, then somehow died while heroically helping someone? Bai Mingwang: No way! I have to clear her name! Then she went to the police and made a startling discovery: “Why are the police in your porcelain country raising Japanese dolls?” The human world is full of oddballs, not to mention all the demons and monsters surrounding them, just waiting for her to save them! She beat up wandering spirits and kicked little ghosts for their sake, finally cultivating herself into a golden fox covered in merit! Just as she was about to achieve complete merit, the golden light stopped growing. The Underworld King, now restored to his memories, walked up to Bai Mingwang. “I’m claiming the final job.” Bai Mingwang: “You’re claiming it? The final job costs two hundred million!” Zhou Ciwei: “I’ll add two more zeroes for you.”
