Ten Years, and Love Is Gone

On our wedding anniversary, Gu Xiao sat across from me video-calling his newly hired assistant. He smiled as she made faces and coyly asked him for a kiss. Then he turned to me and said she was just a client. Even at the company banquet, it was her who took his arm and accompanied him onstage. He said the company needed someone with a better image to make an impression, and that it was all just for show. Looking at the assistant’s young, pretty face, I decided to set him free. But he tore up my divorce papers and knelt before me, begging me not to give up on him.
