After Three Years of Playing the Fool, I Rose from the Frontier

Li Xianzhi transmigrates to an empire called the Great Ning Dynasty and becomes the Southern Prince's second son. He expects a life of wealth and comfort, but the Southern Prince's household holds so much power that the emperor cannot tolerate it. In the end, the Li family receives an imperial decree to return to the capital, only to fall into the emperor's trap and be killed in the wilderness. To stay alive, Li Xianzhi plays the fool, sleeps in pigsties, eats pig slop, and begs on the streets, becoming a laughingstock to all. At long last, three years later, he is granted an inheritable title and made the Prince of the South. Li Xianzhi casts aside his former ways, pacifies the Baiyue, marches through Nanli, and heads north to the Central Plains to vie for supremacy.
