After Donating My Corneas to My Husband, He Only Wanted One Last Look at Me

Five years after I died, Gu Weixiao returned to China as a rising business tycoon. By then, his company was already listed, and he had just rung the bell at Nasdaq. A financial channel host smiled obsequiously. “Mr. Gu, you went from having nothing to being worth tens of billions. Who are you most grateful to?” Gu Weixiao clasped his hands and stared intently at the camera. “I owe my success to two people: my ex-girlfriend, who left me because I was blind, and the kindhearted person who donated their corneas to me five years ago.”

Later, my father’s legs were broken, my mother lost her job, and our home was burned to the ground. Only then did Gu Weixiao learn that I was dead. He frantically begged my mother for a photo of me, asking only to see what I looked like. But my mother just looked at him coldly. “Didn’t you burn them all with your own hands?”
