Reborn, I Stole the Female Lead's Halo from My Self-Righteous Best Friend

My best friend is a saint through and through. Ever since we were children, she’s told me to repay wrongs with kindness and treat people with tolerance. I never bought into her philosophy, and crushed everyone who tried to hurt me. She condemned me as cruel-hearted and spent half her life fighting me on their behalf. In the end, she found success in both love and career, while I spent the rest of my life destitute and down on my luck. Only as I lay dying did I learn that she was the heroine, destined to enjoy a smooth and happy life no matter what. When we lived our lives again, she urged me not to go astray. I smiled. “Fine. Then give me your necklace.” I wanted to see whether she could still make a good life for herself without that heroine’s halo.
