Opening a Haunted House in the Underworld: The Occult Master Makes a Killing

In the era of declining magic, the God of Wealth resigns from his post in the divine realm. Gu Shimiao, the head of a Taoist sect who has only just ascended to godhood, is forced to take over as the new God of Wealth, managing the divine realm’s severely deficit-ridden finances. After she becomes the God of Wealth, her System appears a century late. It is a ghost-frightening System: as long as she scares ghosts and monsters and earns Fright Points, she can buy money-making and luck-enhancing items. Looking at the divine realm, which is so poor that all it has left are green hills and clear waters, and listening to her Taoist disciples complain, Gu Shimiao sets her sights on the underworld, with its huge population and wealth greater than anywhere else in the three realms. She opens a haunted house to scare ghosts, earning money while milking her System for all it’s worth. As the Fright Points keep rolling in, the great Taoist master Gu Shimiao smiles. Both the divine realm and her sect can be saved. [An alternate modern mythology + System + lighthearted]
