You Come from the Light

In the summer, a young man struggling in Beijing, like many Beipiao people, came to this prosperous city full of dreams. But with the economic downturn, Xia Tian lost his job and his life fell into trouble. The blow of unemployment and the pressure on marriage from a traditional family made her feel more depressed and desperate than ever before. During this darkest period, Xia Tian met Nian Sheng, an ideal partner and the perfect lover in her heart. Niansheng only exists in Xia Tian's imagination, which is her projection of ideal love. The relationship between them is pure and not mixed with any material desires, and is a kind of Platonic love. After a period of inner struggle, Xia Tian began to examine her life. She realized that she needed a change and that she needed to fundamentally broaden her horizons and cognition. She decided to give up her unstable life in Beijing and apply to study abroad to pursue a wider world and a deeper self-understanding. Xia Tian's journey abroad was not smooth, but her determination and Niansheng's encouragement enabled her to overcome all the difficulties. In a foreign country, Xia Tian not only learned new knowledge, but more importantly, she was exposed to different cultures and values. These new experiences greatly broadened her horizons and gave her a deeper understanding of life. While studying and living abroad, Xia Tian gradually let go of her dependence on Niansheng and began to truly understand and accept her own imperfections. She learned to be independent and how to find happiness and contentment in real life. The story of Summer is ultimately less about finding a perfect partner and more about a journey of personal growth and self-discovery.
