Starting as a Night Wanderer

“When it gets dark, don't go outside.”

Everyone knows that once night falls, you must never go outside again.

The things that hide during the day all come out. If they spot you, they'll eat you until not even a scrap is left!

After transmigrating here, Nie Chong obtains the divine office of the Night Wanderer and becomes the master of the night!

While herb gatherers fight tooth and nail over a ten-year-old ginseng root, Nie Chong casually plucks thousand-year-old spirit mushrooms that brim with essence in the darkness. While martial artists cower at home, terrified of the wandering ghosts of the night, Nie Chong commands a hundred ghosts to slay monsters and claim their treasures.

A monster with a baboon's shape, wild hair, and a single leg rampages through the night, leaving a thousand miles of barren land in its wake.

A giant ape swims ashore and devours every living thing in an entire town.

Heads fly through the night sky, and with a single gaping mouth, something sucks in strings of them.

The Drought Demon, Wuzhiqi, the Guhuoniao, the Rakshasa Spirit, the Flying Head, the Skeleton Wife, the Mountain Lord, the Deception Beast...

One bizarre and terrifying taboo after another, one surreal and wondrous journey after another.

Open the “Night Eye,” walk the “Night Path,” command the “Night Ghosts,” become the “Night Lord”!

Many years later, temples dot the land, each one thronged with worshippers and filled with the constant smoke of incense.

“Daddy's going to quiz you. Who do we worship?”

“I know, Daddy! Grandpa Zhuyin. With him watching over us, we can go outside at night!”
