The Demon Lord Never Planned to Save the World

The infamous Demon Venerable Yue Yao had been sealed in the River of the Underworld for centuries by the united immortal sects. She never expected to open her eyes again and inexplicably find herself possessing Jiang Yao, an outer disciple of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect. She thought she might as well pass the days in peace, but fate had other ideas. A few dimwits kept wandering into her path and getting on her nerves, so she had no choice but to teach them how to behave. One look at Yue Yao in action, and you know she’s the real deal. Before she knew it, she had become the number one disciple of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect. The once-in-a-century Immortal Sect Assembly was just around the corner, and the sect leader looked at Yue Yao with tears in his eyes as he urged her, “The future of our sect rests on you!” Yue Yao had no interest in taking part in the Immortal Sect Assembly or making her sect rise to prominence. But she was very interested in You Zhiyu, the dazzling genius hailed as the greatest talent in the cultivation world today. Outside the assembly, cultivators gathered in lively groups to debate who would claim the title of champion. Some even placed bets, and countless people wagered on You Zhiyu. There’s no point having money if you don’t make it, so Yue Yao put down a hundred spirit stones and bet on Jiang Yao. “Who’s Jiang Yao?” asked the others, who had never heard of her. Yue Yao pointed at herself and grinned. “Me!” At the time, they thought she was talking nonsense. They never expected her to actually win the championship. As the name “Jiang Yao” spread far and wide, Yue Yao made a fortune. At the time, no one could have imagined that this slender woman would turn the cultivation world upside down in the years to come! She was completely unafraid when everyone came after her. “Remember my name. I’m Yue Yao, the Demon Venerable Yue Yao!”
