The story is set in Shangri-La, Yunnan in the late 1990s. It tells the story of two female tour guides who admired each other, became best friends, and founded a travel agency together. As their careers progressed, the two eventually had different views and business philosophies. Within a year, their careers collapsed and their friendships collapsed.
