Assassination of the Court

“Heavenly fate cannot be defied. Anyone who attempts to defy it will suffer Heaven's punishment.”

This was the warning that the Lord of the Old Moon, who governed the marriages of the Three Realms, repeated time and again to the people.

Chang Hua, Lord of the Purple Qi Star and foremost among the Nine Stars of Heaven, was bound by her heavenly fate to Huangdi Yan Qing, who would one day become the Divine Emperor of Heaven. But the person she loved was Zi Ying, the Azure Emperor of the South. Even if it meant defying fate, Chang Hua refused to lose the one she truly loved.

So she slipped into the Northern Territories to assassinate Mu Xi, Lord of the Moon's Shadow Star, whose true heavenly bond was with Zi Ying. The Divine Emperor Yan Qing died suddenly in the prime of his life. To win back his former love, Tiancanzi, Lord of the Ketu Star and Yan Qing's imperial attendant, seized the opportunity to invoke Yan Qing's supposed last wish and have the entire Purple Qi Star Clan buried with him.

When Zi Ying learned that his fiancée Chang Hua had been poisoned with a cup of wine, he was overcome with grief. In his haste to see her one last time, he intercepted the funeral procession carrying the Divine Emperor. For defying Heaven's laws, he was stripped of his divine essence by the Red Emperor and Black Emperor and banished to the mortal realm, reduced to an ordinary human...

But no one knew that true heavenly punishment had quietly begun.

And heavenly fate was working in its own way to set everyone's destiny right...
