My Brother Is Cao Mengde: Reversing the Battle of Red Cliffs

My elder brother is Cao Mengde, a man of literary and military brilliance, an extraordinary talent who conquers the land and a peerless warlord. My nephew Cao Ziwen is a ruler who preserves what he inherits, skilled in both letters and arms. My nephew Cao Zijian possesses literary talent beyond compare. My nephew Cao Ziwen is known as the Yellow-Bearded Boy of Ye. My nephew Cao Chong can even weigh an elephant... Among our civil officials are Xun, Cheng, Jia, Guo, and Sima; among our warriors are the Eight Tiger Cavalry of our clan and the Five Elite Generals. My elder brother holds the emperor hostage to command the warlords, and every battle he fights is won, every attack successful. With such support, I could have spent my days raising fighting cocks, walking dogs, and living in extravagant luxury, occasionally doing the sort of things a member of the Cao family ought to do. Who could have guessed that my brother's next campaign would be at a place called Red Cliffs? I have no choice but to step into the world. A thousand years later, Su Shi and his companion sail along the river. The companion asks, “Where are we?” Su Shi replies, “This is Red Cliffs, where Cao Cao of the Three Kingdoms once fought. Jagged rocks pierce the sky; raging waves crash against the shore, raising a thousand heaps of snow. The landscape is like a painting. How many heroes have appeared in their time!”
