Teaching Physics in a Cultivation World

While others cultivate their bodies by refining pills and fight bloody battles for peerless treasures, Zhao Sixi teaches children in the mountains Newton's three laws of motion. While others climb the ranks and brave tribulations, giving everything for divine powers granted by the Heavenly Dao, Zhao Sixi turns with keen interest to the second law of thermodynamics. “Master, look! That person is ascending to immortality!” The immortal, wings newly formed, joyfully soared toward the heavens, only to suddenly plummet back down to the mortal world. Zhao Sixi withdrew the hand he had held beneath the hem of his robe. “Even if you can fly with wings, you still have to obey the laws of physics. Be good and remember: before you fly, you need to file a flight plan and follow air traffic control.” Zhao Sixi proudly patted his chest. In this world of cultivation, some cultivate the Dao of the human heart, others the Dao of all things. Some practice laziness, while others practice wickedness. Only Zhao Sixi is cultivating something entirely new: in this fantastical world of immortal cultivation, he has taken up physics.
