Bending at the Waist in Early Summer

[Age gap + rekindled romance + wealthy family + classical dance] [A charming, alluring classical beauty VS a refined powerbroker as untouchable as a snow lotus on a high peak] A “peony of the mortal world” has recently become the talk of the Nancheng dance troupe. She favors long, smoky red dresses; her dancing is graceful, her waist slender, and her beauty is as dazzling as a peony in full bloom. Seventh Master Nan Chen is like a snow lotus high on a mountain: quiet, taciturn, and untouched by worldly concerns. His methods are decisive and ruthless, and he detests being threatened. Rumor has it he keeps a pampered peony at home and won’t let her return after ten at night... A little scene. The dressing room backstage. The beauty lazily closes her eyes, her long lashes fluttering a few times as the scent of cedar fills her nostrils. “What are you doing here?” A suggestive red mark shows at the collar of his black suit, while his gold-rimmed glasses hide the affection in the corners of his eyes. “To take my wife home.” She bites her red lip. “Who’s your wife? I’m not going back.” A brief knock sounds at the door. “Madam, sir says he didn’t mean to damage your dance costume. A new batch of qipaos has arrived at Lanyige, and they’ve been put in your dressing room.” Chen Buyan wraps his large hand around her slender waist and pulls her into his arms, leaving her no room to resist. His voice, however, is tender. “You are.” “Be good. We’ll go back and... make it up to you.” Chen Buyan considers himself detached and cold, but he has grown possessive over this particular peony. The peony I raised wants to run away? I’ll pull her out by the roots. [Seven-year age gap, peony is also known as “about to part,” 1v1]
